MISSION
The Mission of Professionals In Transition Support Group, Inc.® is to reach out to downsized and under-employed employees and help deal with the experiences or re-employment in an atmosphere of confidentiality, integrity and trust.
GUIDING PRINCIPLES
INFORMATION EXCHANGE
Our primary function is to globally serve as a forum for re-employment support that generates ideas, creates options, and provides information and perspective.
FELLOWSHIP EXCHANGE
We serve as a catalyst to accelerate the job search process by providing emotional support, empathy, hope, humor, job leads and the validation of the roller coaster of emotions while coping with job loss.
COLLABORATION
We have learned that it is far more effective to collaborate within the global re-employment community than compete. By leveraging our strengths, we as a community grow stronger. By working together, we establish interactivity and create a road map to re-employment, linking employers to potential employees.
CONFIDENTIALITY
Assures privacy for all members. This is of critical significance to newcomers, who in many instances may feel both vulnerable and violated by the emotional impact of the unemployment experience.
INTEGRITY
Honest feedback, sensitivity to others, kindness and adherence to our Mission Statement and Guiding Principles are the foundation that binds us together.
TRUST
Enables us to create "safe space" to address the many issues of unemployment and underemployment while providing support, empathy and hope, in a sensitive and secure atmosphere.
RESPONSIBILITY
Re-employment is both a personal responsibility and a proactive job search process. Unemployment is a temporary condition.
NON-JUDGMENTAL
Our membership is open to any downsized or under-employed employee actively seeking re-employment or a new career. PIT® accepts all, wherever they may be at in their search for re-employment.
NON-PROFIT
We are a non-profit, 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. We are currently supported by Foundations, Corporate Partners, Friends of PIT and Professionals In Transition Alumni (PITA's) and Individuals.
